About us

Made in Vårgårda, Sweden

We build our machines from scratch in our workshop in Vårgårda. Having production as far as possible in-house means that we have full control over quality, capacity and sustainability. There may be other ways to build machines by, for example, engaging production units in low-cost countries, but we believe that by being responsive, flexible and responsible, we can create added value that would otherwise not have been possible. Our employees often stay with us for a long time. We see that as proof that we offer a workplace where experience is utilised, that we provide a good working environment and that we enjoy working together.

History of SpriderMaskiner

Sprider’s history began in 1986 when we built the first version of the Sprider M-25 for laying asphalt. The idea came from the need for a more ergonomic tool to avoid the pain and overexertion of asphalt laying by means of heavy manual labour. For the first few years we not only manufactured machines, but also carried out paving work.

After a change of ownership and a shift in operations, SpriderMaskiner AB was founded in 1995, and it focused solely on the production and service of Sprider. In 2012, SpriderMaskiner merged with YMA Mekaniska AB, with whom we had previously worked closely, and the business in machine manufacturing, industrial service and contract manufacturing was added.

SpriderMaskiner AB is a family business with around twenty employees. Our operations are based in Vårgårda, a small town in Västra Götaland County, 70 kilometres northeast of Gothenburg.
